Milt Warren of Berlin, Maryland opened the business as Delmarva Two-Way Radio, Inc. Incorporated in the State of Maryland on May 19, 1993.  As a genuine “Start-Up” he used the services of the Maryland Small Business Development Center located at the Salisbury University.  Buying an inexpensive Laptop, hiring someone to answer the phone and a young technician to do vehicle installations, we operated out of his home in Berlin.  We were getting current prices from Motorola by mail on a CD and were attempting to use something called “Email” but that was slow using Dial-Up through America On-Line.  He was however experienced as an early adopter, believed to be the 1st remote sales rep with Motorola to be issued a “Fax Machine”.

Previously Milt had success as the Sales Manager for Motorola Communications and Assigned Key Accounts.  He earned the designation as Professional Sales Person of the year in 1984 which was one of the top 10 in the country.  When Motorola decided to downsize, Delmarva Two-Way Radio was appointed 2-Way Radio Dealer to fill the need and offer wireless solutions to the eastern shore.   At that time there were 10 other companies offering sales and service of 2-Way Radios.  The competition was fierce but with great products and great customer service, Delmarva Two-Way Radio has been in business now for 25 years.

Through the years, Delmarva has offered sales and service of Motorola 2-Way Radios using Community Repeaters, Bell Atlantic Mobile (now Verizon Cellular), Cellular One (now AT&T), Nextel (now Sprint) as well as offering Video, Poultry House Alarms, Public Safety Communications and many on-site systems.  We were selling the very first digital cellular telephones.  Mobile Phones were still analog!

With the idea of expansion, Delmarva Two-Way Radio opened a second location, on US Route 50 outside of Ocean City, and offered sales and service of Nextel Units.  The units offered the best of both worlds, 2-way radio and cellular in a single radio.  Eventually, changes in the FCC frequency allotment and advances in technology rendered that service unusable.  We retreated to our main location in the West Ocean City Business Park and refocused again on 2-Way Radio Sales and Service.  We are thankful for our loyal customers over the years.

Currently, Delmarva Two-Way Radio, Inc. is authorized to offer Commercial and Public Safety 2-Way Radio plus Public Safety Monitoring and Alert Paging in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania.  We offer sales and service of all major brands of 2-Way radio as well as the Xplore Line of Ruggedized Devices such as Tablets and Laptops for Industry and Public Safety.  Our primary focus is providing wireless communications into large buildings, wide area coverage for commercial fleets and Public Safety plus monitoring the new APCO P-25 Phase II Systems for Fire Departments.

Site Management of Tower Sites and Rooftops have enabled us to expand the coverage of our customers and our own radio communications.  We lease or rent 2-way radios seasonally or simply for events.  Our Communications Rentals expand each year as more of our customers discover how cost-effective this program can be.

Delmarva Two-Way Radio, Inc. recently partnered with the Mid-Atlantic Digital Radio Network and offers complete 2-Way Radio Coverage from Pittsburgh, Pa. down to Cape Charles, Virginia including complete vehicle tracking.
